Samsung Beats Apple as 2011's No.1 Smartphone Maker

Samsung Beats Apple as 2011's No.1 Smartphone Maker

"With 37 million iPhones sold, it's no suprise that Apple dominated the smartphone market during the fourth quarter, but for 2011 as a whole, Samsung managed to edge out Cupertino as the year's top smartphone manufacturer.
According to separate reports from Strategy Analytics and IHS Suppli, Samsung's Galaxy line of devices help push it past Apple's iPhone last year as the battle between Android and iOS continued."

Google authorized Motorola to seek an injunction against the iPhone 4S and iCloud

Google authorized Motorola to seek an injunction against the iPhone 4S and iCloud
"These days, you can probably hear a pin drop if Apple and Google are in the same room. Tensions are rising high as a direct legal clash increasingly appears to be inevitable. The latest hostility is a new lawsuit filed yesterday by Motorola Mobility, with green light from Google, in the Southern District of Florida, seeking an injunction against the iPhone 4S and the iCloud over a package of six patents previously asserted against older Apple products in the same court."

Why is the Head of the Democrats Supporting & Co-Sponsoring SOPA?

Why is the Head of the Democrats Supporting SOPA?

"If you're looking for someone local to blame for any of your internet-related problems, look no further than Democratic Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Ted Deutch.

That's because they're two of the 30 cosponsors of a House bill titled the "Stop Online Piracy Act" -- and the Senate side's bill, the "Protect Intellectual Property Act" -- which nerds have been freaking out about for weeks and the rest of the world is discovering today.

(But seriously, just Google "Wikipedia blackout workaround" if you really just can't handle all this.)

The thought, at least among the technology world, is that SOPA sucks.

The critics say it goes beyond its intention of stopping online piracy and, sparing you the technical mumbo-jumbo, gives the Justice Department and copyright holders unheard of power. "

Apple Inc Creating PLENTY OF BUZZ Without CES
"Due to heavy criticism about working conditions in factories, Apple Inc. disclosed a massive report  detailing categories such as working hours, hazardous waste and overtime pay.  The results were less than stellar to say the least.  The WSJ reports, “The report found 108 facilities didn’t pay proper overtime wages and 93 facilities had records that indicated more than 50% of their workers exceeded the 60-hour work week. The audits also found 5 facilities had incidents of underage labor.”

Programming prodigy passes away at 16: world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional at 9 years old
"One of the most remarkable parts, apart from her recounting the conversation with Gates, is hearing her talk with such authority about developing Windows applications.
As you'll hear at the end, Arfa at 10 years old had also settled on her philosophy of life, and committed it to memory. She told me about it after our interview, when she was having her picture taken outside, so I turned my recorder back on and asked her to repeat it for me on tape."

Why Samsung Is The NEXT APPLE?

Why Samsung Is The NEXT APPLE?
"For most of the ten years I’ve been coming to CES, every presentation, every booth, has had one goal: to create an ecosystem in order to encourage consumer to lock in. Year after year, presentation after presentation, someone has come out to show how the phone will connect to the fridge which, in turn, will connect to the TV. And year after year, they failed.
Until now.
Samsung, and to some extent the other vendors, have finally cracked it. For most of the past few years they’ve watched as Apple ran circles around them in terms of media sharing and remote control. Obviously Apple’s systems have been limited to iPod/iTunes/iPad/Mac but Samsung, a major player in both the white goods and the mobile markets, can now have it all."
